The Top Ten Crazy Things I did for Chiz Escudero

1. Wear yellow shirts. Yellow is my most hated color next to pink. Thank goodness I did not join Team Mike.

2. Wear my black Chiz shirt every Friday. Friday is Chiz shirt day as agreed by Team Chiz members. Since I hate yellow...I have to suffer the sweltering heat of the sun.

3. Buy Chiz shirts for rabid Escudero supporters.

4. Print around 500 solo pictures of Chiz Escudero as a replacement for flyers. Due to the great demand for Escudero campaign materials, there is usually shortage of paraphernalia. Thus, I decided to print 4R pictures as a substitute. It's quite a hit in our town. People literally mob me because of the precious photos.

5. Campaign in Iloilo (with fellow volunteer Liz) for 13 days. Read: I don't speak Ilonggo. But the food is great!

6. Campaign in Iloilo in front of the house of Raul Gonzales, Jr. Yes. He is the son of He who must be Shamed. After plastering a community in Mandurriao with striking Chiz stickers, a resident told us that the son of the DOJ secretary got angry. It is another demonstration of the old adage, 'the apple does not fall far from the tree.'

7. Create a series of Chiz Escudero scrapbooks. Team Chiz members have a habit of text brigading the latest magazine featuring Escudero. So if the June 11-18 issue of Biz News Asia sells more than the usual...Tony Lopez, you have to thank us.

8. Convince my non Chiz fan parents to vote for him. I am so good in persuading them that they even campaign for the senator-elect from Sorsogon. During the early part of the campaign season, my mother twisted her ankle, but that did not stop from trekking wet markets in order to campaign for the young lawmaker. My secret in persuasion? Good old voodoo. Kidding.

9. Write - as in manually write his name in sample ballots. Since I was not able to obtain stickers, I had to convince a few others to write his name in several hundreds of sample ballots. Our work paid off. Escudero obtain 78% of the votes in our town. Number one.

10. Engage taxi drivers in small talks (sometimes long discussions) about - who else - Chiz Escudero. I once rode a taxi manned by a Bicolano driver. When he learned that I was a volunteer and a half-Bicolana, I got a discount. Not bad.

Note: if Escudero decides to run for higher office (which he most certainly will), this list may include eating live chicken, swallowing swords, and convincing Raul Gonzales, Jr. to campaign and vote for the soon-to-be father of twins.

The Top Ten Reasons for the Debate Dare of Joey Salceda

Hurt by the full page newspaper advertisements of the Genuine Opposition that questioned the healthiness of the Philippine, newly-appointed Presidential Chief-of-Staff Joey Salceda dared the GO to an opposition. Manay...ang taray!

1. He's trying to make a good first impression. The favorite student should rise and shine.

2. He's creating his own identity. The former chief of staff Mike Defensor is a chismoso. Joey Salceda is talakera.

3. What were you expecting? Do you think he'll dare the opposition into a bare-knuckled fistfight? Sabunutan na lang.

4. Naimbyerna ang lola mo.

5. Nachukchak ang economic beauty ng lola mo.

6. Royal rumble itech. Debate with Joey Salceda versus John Osmena.

7. He wants to see Antonio Trillanes IV.

8. He wants to see Francis Escudero.

9. He wants to see Adel Tamano.

10. 'Kasi naman sina Pichay at Kiram lang ang nakikita ko palagi.'

Seriously. You know that life is not fair when Ladlad does not get party-list accreditation and Joey Salceda is appointed presidential chief-of-staff.

The Top Ten Possible Ways for Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to have a Positive Trust Rating

Note: Pulse Asia has released a new survey showing the Fake One's (dis)trust rating. In a nutshell, half of the Filipinos do not like her. Ouch. What's a little girl to do? What does she have to do to gain the trust of her countrymen? It is my duty to help a fellow citizen.

1. Let the Presidential Impeachment prosper and then proceed with a much needed Marital Annulment.

2. Appoint Luli as the chief security guard of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport as well as the Metro Railway Transit.

3. Keep Mikey Arroyo. Ask him to do things that are not related to politics and showbusiness.

4. Slap George W Bush in the face if she ever gets to have another nine minute bilateral talks (read APEC news) with the leader of the free world. Not only will it divert our attention from rampant political killings and government scandals - but it will surely gets the approval of a Democratic Congress. Who knows she might even receive the Congressional Medal of Honor?

5. Join any of fantaserye of the big networks. Ask Lopez or Gozon if you could play an evil dwarf queen. Filipinos are into fantaseryes, they might find you cute and lovable if you're part of it.

6. Or better yet, join any Koreanovela. What's a little help from a fellow Asian country to improve one's trust rating? I suggest that Arroyo would play a kimchi mascot. No. A cute and lovable kimchi mascot.

7. Join the opposition.

8. Or join Atong Ang in his cell.

9. Better yet join Estrada in Tanay. Forever. Unless Loi feels uncomfortable with the set-up. Everybody now...yuuuuuck!

10. Resignation is not an option. Ritual suicide like hara kiri or seppuku is more attractive. Stomach slashing or disembowelment is much preferred if held in Mendiola. Or in the Cebu International Convention Center.

The Ten Possible Alternative Uses for the Cebu International Convention Center

Note: Although the government keeps on denying that the skeletal Cebu International Convention Center will still be used in the upcoming ASEAN Meet - the main point is -it's still skeletal framework. The completion of such a gargantuan, not to mention expensive structure - will take TIME. Conventions such as ASEAN are not held in the Philippines regularly. In order to avoid reaching white elephant status, I suggest the following alternatives for the more that P800 million project.

1. Turn it into the newest and biggest branch of Gaisano Mall.

2. Use it as a training academy for amateur Cebuano singers to prepare them for various talent shows.

3. Turn it into a call center and officially call it as Cebu International Call Center...

4...or into a state-of-the-art, leakage-proof nursing review center.

5. Use it for the 2020 ASEAN Meet. By that time, according to Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the Philippines will be part of the First World. Suggested theme: Philippines Reaches the Enchanted Kingdom.

6. Make it as the official setting for Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia's photo shoot for Zee Magazine and The Philippine Tattler.

7. Turn it into the personal playground of Arroyo's grandchildren.

8. New Malacanang of the South, anyone?

9. Better yet, the new Malacanang.

10. Of course, use it as the official election headquarter of the administration. Why? It's Cebu. The COMELEC need not adjust much on their cheating strategies. Garci would be very much at home.

The Ten Possible Promises Jose De Venecia Made to God During His Scary Flight

1. I promise not to clap excessively during the State of the Nation Address.

2. I promise not to deliver another long and boring speech.

3. I promise not to encourage my wife's political ambition.

4. I promise to prohibit my son to write another newspaper article to save readers from further suffering.

5. I promise not to frustrate a potential House Speaker rival through extra legal means.

6. I promise to cut my pork barrell in half...during leap years.

7. I promise to berate the majority congressmen every time they gang up on the minority...if Luis Villafuerte comes out of the closet publicly.

8. I promise to push for Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's impeachment...if Mike Arroyo's weight scales down to 160 lbs.

9. I promise to abandon the People's Initiative...for two seconds.

10. I promise to abandon my ambitions as prime minister...if...naka-land na yung plane? Ayos. Lord, hindi ko natapos yung last promise ko ha? I still want to be a prime minister.

The Ten Reasons for the Postponement of the Committee Hearing on Allan Peter Cayetano's Case

Note: I forgot to post this one.

1. They're still waoting for the separate complaint of Luli Arroyo.

2. The Arroyos are still looking at an Allan Cayetano-Ramon Tulfo Conspiracy. If they find sufficient evidence linking the two personalities, then they would file a consolidated complaint.

3. The majority did not understand the complaints.

4. Or...the First Family has yet to give the majority additional porks and perks.

5. Mike Arroyo had unexpected visitor in the person er ghost of Rene Cayetano.

6. Both parties are contemplating a less complicated procedure: a Mix Tag Team Match featuring Allan-Pia Cayetano and Mikey-Luli Arroyo. This could very well be an undercard match of the Batista-Bobby Lashley and King Booker-Mr. Kennedy fight this coming October in the Araneta Coliseum.

7. The majority got scared of the minority's "full force" appearance. They felt that it was hard to go up against a team composed of suspected communists, a former boxer (Roilo Golez) and a sumo wrestler (Ronaldo Zamora).

8. The majority thought that they were suppose to talk about Charter Change and not some ethical complaint. Overheard in JDV's office, "Sayang ang oras."

9. Mike Arroyo was not available to oversee the hearing. He was busy with his...what? More than forty libel cases?!

10. The majority had to postpone the hearing because they were needed by Gloria to console her from the dismal result of her European trip.

Top Ten Reasons why Only a Few People Read Fidel Ramos' Sunday Column in The Manila Bulletin

Note: read the newest issue of Newsbreak for more information.

1. People buy Manila Bulletin because of the classified ads section and not the opinion section.

2. What? Manila Bulletin has an opinion section?

3. Yes it does...and I bet you'd rather read Adrian Cristobal's short but substantial articles than Fidel Ramos' long and boring ramblings.

4. It's already 2006 but Ramos writes as if we're living in 2000 - as in Philippines 2000.

5. You'd rather watch him go head-to-head with Miriam Santiago during senate investigations than read his prose.

6. Fidel Ramos' columns are exciting as a Jose De Venecia speech.

7. Manila Bulletin subsribers are too busy reading TonTon Young's Pupung comic strips.

8. Or too busy deciphering the numerous showbiz blind items in the entertainment section.

9. Or they decided to search the classified ads. Again.

10. Let's keep this simple: he can't write.

Top Ten Reasons why the Lower House will not Expel Allan Peter Cayetano

Minority Floor Leader Francis Escudero is confident that Congressman Allan Peter Cayetano will not be expelled by the Lower House. He said that even the majority will not dare do what the First Gentleman(?) wishes. Why?

Check the link by clicking the title.

Here's now are the top ten reasons why the Lower House will not Expel Allan Peter Cayetano:

1. Unless they really want Rene Cayetano to haunt the Batasan...

2. The expulsion proceedings will hamper the Charter Change plans of the administration. Constantino Jaraula and his tribe does not like that idea.

3. This means that the minority will receive free media exposure.

4. This also means that majority will receive free criticisms.

5. Those who will vote to expel Cayetano will be balut-deprived for life.

6. Do you think the majority lawmakers(?) would want to see Dinky Soliman again in the Batasan gallery?

7. The administration congressmen are too tired. After exerting major effort in explaining the unexplainable and the impossible during the 2nd impeachment debates, they now have a new case to contend with - expulsion. I mean come on...we should give them a break. Remember not all of them are lawyers this might take a toll on their brain.

8. A Cayetano expulsion will give the opposition senators ideas on how to get rid off administration senators.

9. The Arroyo couple has little pork barrel to distribute after providing a lot for the impeachment turncoats and traitors.

10. If Cayetano will be expelled for lying...then you can be sure most if not all congressmen will be expelled too.

It just occured to me why not settle this issue through a cycling contest...between PIA CAYETANO AND WAY KURAT ZAMORA? That will be more entertaining.

Top Ten Possible Outcomes if Allan Peter Cayetano will be Expelled in the Lower House

Accompanied by his brother and son in the Lower House, Mike Arroyo filed a complaint against Representative Allan Peter Cayetano for (we know this by heart, all together now) PEDDLING LIES.

Not surprisingly, his fellow Atenean Prospero Nograles received the complaint. The bombastic majority floor leader assured that the complaint will be directed to the Ethics Committee. Aksyon agad, ika nga!

If Cayetano gets expelled for peddling lies, shouldn't Iggy Arroyo be expelled too for admitting that he was the real Jose Pidal?

Mikey? Come on, his movies are crimes against humanity. WE ALL SHOULD FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST HIM.

Here are the ten possible outcomes if Cayetano gets expelled as congressman:

1. He will easily win in the 2007 Senatorial elections.

2. The ghost of Rene Cayetano will haunt the Arroyo couple - forever.

3. Anybody may assume Cayetano's vacated position as long as his family name is Tinga.

4. ABSCBN will revive their legal service program Companero y Companera. It will be hosted by Allan and Pia Cayetano. Talagang kapamilya. Oh, it will be directed by Lino Cayetano.

5. He will have a busy schedule accomodating all request for interviews by all TV stations.

6. He will be a regular guest in all the shows of ANC.

7. Speaking of ANC, they will produce another Square-Off program but with a reality TV twist. It will be a weekly debate pitting Cayetano against any member of the Arroyo clan he chooses.

8. The Taguig-Pateros representive will give Mike Arroyo not three but five balut. It means: GO TO HELL JOSE PIDAL.

9. The opposition will stage a fighting despidida party for Cayetano in front of the Batasan with Dinky Soliman singing If We Hold on Together once more.

10. Like his father, the life of the younger Cayetano will be dramatized in Maalaala Mo Kaya. Sam Milby will star as Cayetano while Rudy Meyer will play Mike Arroyo. The director? Lino Cayetano.

5. Police cars will be replaced with horses. Environment-friendly na, pormang Leon Guerrero pa!

6. Opposition rallies will be prohibited and will be replaced with weekily Lito Lapid Fans Day.

8. The Makati Business Club (MBC) will be ignored in favor of the MJBC of Makati Business Jueteng Club.

Top Ten Differences between Ninoy Aquino and Mike Arroyo

Note: this blog entry is in commemoration of Ninoy Aquino's death anniversary on Monday, August 21. If history was a bit different, Ninoy would have been the first First Gentleman (or he could have been a president) - instead Mike Arroyo got the distinction.
1. The most obvious difference is seen around the waist.
2. Ninoy Aquino is immortalized in our five hundred peso bill. Mike Arroyo just wants more five hundred peso bills and other kind of monetary bills.
3. Ninoy Aquino was a former senator. Mike Arroyo is afraid of senate hearings.
4. Ninoy Aquino fought a dictator but Mike Arroyo sleeps with a dictator.
5. Ninoy Aquino's death move a nation into a bloodless revolution. On the other hand, Mike Arroyo's death will move a nation into one hell of a bloody celebration.
6. I never heard of Ninoy Aquino being linked to a smuggler. What her name again...Vicky Toh?
7. They both have younger brothers who are currently elected congressmen but at least one of them is not idiot enough to admit that he is the real Jose Pidal.
8. They both have children in showbusiness but at least Kris Aquino can NOW act but Mikey...can you honestly call him an actor?
9. Ninoy Aquino was married to a widowed president and Mike Arroyo is married to a non-widow and a non-president.
10. Ninoy Aquino famously declared that "the Filipino is worth dying for." I say, it's true, the Filipino is indeed worth dying for...unless that Filipino is Mike Arroyo.

Top Ten Signs that an Administration Congressman is a Closet Homosexual

1. He does not want to be addressed as "congressman," instead, he insists to be called as a "congreSISTAH."
2. He believes that there should be other congressional committees such as Committee on National Beautification.

4. Speaking of the State of the Nation Address, he not only praised the colorful Power Point presentation of GMA - he also praised the color of her gown.
5. He hates Danton Remoto and the rest of the Ladlad group because they would be the first openly admitted gay should their party list wins in the 2007 elections.

7. During press conferences, he continuously frets about his hair and his camera angles.
8. He's quite close to Representative Luis Villafuerte - if you know what I mean.
9. He's quite close to Representative Joey Salceda - if you know what I mean.
10. Just like any other administration lawmakers, he hates the opposition BUT he secretly ADMIRES Gilbert Remulla and Francis Escudero.

Top Ten Reasons why Gloria Arroyo Suffered a Flu

1. Sam Milby has hoarded all the available Centrum in the market that's why Gloria does not have enough vitamins.

3. It's not flu; it's diarrhea...again. The palace is just to embarass to admit it.

4. It's not flu; it's only a FLUKE. Why? It's the last resort of the Malacanang spin doctors to actually induce sympathy and support from the Filipinos.

5. But it could be a real flu...BIRD FLU. The resemblance between Gloria Arroyo and Tweety Bird is too hard to ignore.

6. Sure, the impeachment complaints will have a hard time with all the greedy administration lawmakers blocking its chances. Sure, the protesters will have a hard time as long as Querol and Calderon is manning the police force. And sure, Gloria will never resign but as they say - THE SPIRIT IS WILLING BUT THE BODY IS WEAK AND WEAKENING.

7. She just wants Manny Pacquiao to visit her again.

8. She loves the amenities in St. Lukes Hospital.

9. It's part of her CHACHA campaign. Why? I don't know. I mean this administration will actually DO ANYTHING to get what they want. Maybe even getting a flu is one of their strategies.

10. It's just a case of "love-nat." It has been how long since she saw Nani Perez...

1. Bring a personal cheering squad composed of Jejomar Binay, Francis Escudero, Aquilino Pimentel, the rest of the opposition, and the entire Daily Tribune staff.

5. Malacanan spin doctors will declare that Ms. Roces’ personal appearance is a sign that of acceptance and reconciliation.

  1. It's just a testing of explosives effect for a new Mikey Arroyo action film.
  2. It's just a leftover fire cracker used in the recent Manny Pacquiao victory party.
