Elections - New Election Rumors

I recently heard from a covert patola vine (my nationalist version of grapevine)these rumors regarding the upcoming elections.

Question 1: Why is the administration fielding such a pathetic line-up?

Answer: THEY ARE NOT. Actually, they are just using this as a ploy. The administration would actually field political old-timers such as Heherson Alvarez, Ernesto Herera, Orly Mercado, and Wigberto Tanada. Congressman Erin is with the opposition which really puzzles me. Though his old man run under the K4 banner before.

Question 2: What about the suppose automation?

Answer: Some say that it will be implemented in some parts. Some say that only the transmission of the COCs will be automated.

Question 3: Will there be cheating in the automated counting?

Answer: YES. What do you expect? And did you know that several groups have held training on how to cheat the machines? They are prepared. Very prepared.

Question 4: What about congressional candidates?

Answer: The Palace will field a lot of candidates to make sure that the administration will maintain the majority hold in the Lower House. Why? IMPEACHMENT.

Question 5: Possible candidates in the local level, Metro Manila area?

Answer: Connie Dy will challenge Peewee Trinidad for the mayoral post. So there's no need for her to deny that she doesn't have a hand in the suspension. Ping Lacson has already announced his mayoral bid in Manila. He's in a good position according to two recent surveys. He leads the surveys followed by Danny Lacuna (a distant second), then Fred Lim. Ali Atienza? Dead last.

Political old-timers have nothing new to offer but their trapo system. For sure the government is buying its time to prepare for a more polished cheating this May. Lacson is a shoo-in for the Manila mayoralty race. We can once again claim Mediola and give the fake one a very big scare. Connie Dy is not so popular in Pasay.

It all depends on whether the Gordon and Lacson bills are harmonized in time and a new law emerges before the end of November. Otherwise, no automation; not even electronic transmission.

How can people be training to cheat the machines when first, we don't even know for sure if we will be using machines; second, we don't know what kind of machine will be used; and third, if we do automate, we will be automating only four places - what would be the point in cheating?

To be profitable, the cheating must be done in those areas that are not automated. that is where we are focusing all our efforts at fraud-proofing the systems to be used in 2007.

^ sir, they were trained to cheat the machines after the automation machines were bought. they thought there won't be any scandal regarding the machines so na-prepare na yung mga cheaters before pa.

Oh, you were talking about the 2004 elections. Hmm. I expect you won't believe me, but there was no way those ACMs could have been used for cheating.

The data gathered by the ACM from the ballots, i.e., the running total per machine, would have been encrypted with the same strength encryption used for on-line banking transactions.

The machine had no input device (like a keyboard or mouse) so, the data inside - even if you could break through the encryption - could not be manipulated.

And

The ACMs had no networking ability, so you couldn't manipulate the data remotely either.

In fact, if you listened closely to your grapevine, you would have heard the rumor that automation was scuttled precisely because no one could figure out a way to cheat them in time for the polls.

Just thought you might be interested. :)

ok sir. if you say so. but i still have doubts with the acm :)
